A magnificent, large space with high ceilings and a wooden sprung floor, makes our hall the perfect venue for dances, parties, concerts, exhibitions, public consultations and much more.
During September 2017, the Centre spent £3.3k on sanding and sealing the floor, giving it a new lease of life as well as making it look good!
The fantastic hall can be divided into two separate areas by a floor to ceiling solid partition; once separated, the larger area is great for smaller functions and can hold 120 people quite comfortably.
We have invested huge amounts of time, manpower and finances to transform a very dull and dated room into quite a spectacular party venue for a lovely afternoon tea, wedding celebration, baby shower, christening, birthday or anniversary party and even a wake.
The room is situated to the rear of the Centre so it is very quiet and private; the room is also east facing so is very cool in the summer. Oak doors open up to reveal a modern, newly fitted bar lounge that compliments the York Room when holding a function.
A man walked into a bar… and was really surprised at the new and comfortable layout of our Waterloo Lounge! With seating for 20, the bar lounge is a “must” when thinking about your next private party.
Lovely oak doors open into the York Room to create a very private and intimate space for your celebrations; and we serve a comprehensive range of beers, wines and spirits at very competitive prices.
When the bar is closed, there is still room to hold a meeting or event so please ask us for details.
Situated at the front of the building, the Richmond Room catches the morning sunshine making it a very light, bright and airy space.
Now with a newly fitted wooden floor, and a sink with hot and cold water makes it the perfect room for art or flower arranging for example.
Full length blinds offers shading if it gets too warm!
The Peninsular Room may be our smallest room but it is perfectly formed!
We can comfortably hold meetings and seminars for up to 20 delegates.
To pee or not to pee? That is never a question at the community centre because our toilets have been refurbished and modernised to a really high standard! We have taken into account how important water conservation is, so all of our toilets have smaller capacity cisterns and short flush options and all of our taps are non-concussive. Where possible, all lighting has been replaced with LED bulbs and the new hot water boiler saves on gas as it is digitally temperature controlled. We’ve gone for funky coloured cubicle doors and vanity unit trims, too! Thanks must go to our caretakers who keep them spotlessly clean for your benefit.
he really exciting news is that we are raising funds to build a brand new Changing Places facility, which will be a purpose-built resource for severely disabled children and adults. It will be accessible 24/7 and incorporate a changing bed, shower and hoist. This exclusive facility does not come cheap but we are confident, with your help, of raising the necessary funds to make this a reality. Watch our fund-raising page for more details!
